Cloning Instagram For Video Will Not Revolutionize Mobile Video

Sandeep CasiEditor's note: Sandeep Casi is founder and CEO of Cinemacraft. Previously, he worked on Virtual Reality at General Motors, led the Systems Group at Industrial Light + Magic (a division of Lucasfilm), and was a research scientist at Fuji Xerox Palo Alto Lab. He currently lives on a plane traveling between Tokyo and San Francisco. You can follow him on Twitter. Peter Csathy?s recent article on?TechCrunch?does an excellent job of addressing the requirements of mobile video sharing and the need to rethink how video services are built. Peter is right about the six ?ingredients? that will make an ?Instagram for video? a success, but there is a critical point that should be added to his list: the inherent difficulty of video discovery, access, and engagement.

You Can Make Money In Internet Marketing | Patrick O Sullivan's ...

If you are completely new to the world of internet marketing, then you are probably thinking that some tips on the subject will help you immensely so that you can begin your own career in this field. This article will give you many tips to get started.

A good online marketing strategy that you can use is to place a deadline for your customers to purchase the product. Deadlines can help encourage visitors to make their purchase more quickly. Incorporating this strategy is an effective way to increase your sales.

Often, communicating not only protects, but also strengthens, the bond with affiliate partners. Frequent and open exchange of ideas and feedback preserve your stream of revenue. Affiliates that bring in a lot of money are difficult to replace, so do everything in your power to keep them around.

If you really want to get the most income from internet marketing, you will need to pay for some advertising, such as using Google Ads. By buying advertisements that target the right kind of customers, you will be able to increase traffic on your website and you will be able to get lots of customers that could purchase your products.

Most of the people on your email list will end up unsubscribing and you will need to replace them with new customers. To get new ones, use your very best emails that grab a potential customer?s jacket by the lapels.

It is inevitable that some affiliate websites will be much better then others. You may find that some sites are not well-designed. A good affiliate marketer doesn?t allow a poor website to interfere with his business. This can actually build trust between buyer and seller if done correctly.

Be transparent about your affiliates with your audience. Building a solid base of loyal visitors is only possible if you are honest and display integrity. Once you are dishonest your readers will start going elsewhere for their information and for their buying options.

Your affiliate marketing program?s offline tracking system is vital to your success. Get details on the methods the company uses to track phone and mail orders before you sign up. If you make a sale, but it is not concluded until later, you may miss earning the commission owed your affiliate ID. This is especially true if a customer speaks with you, and then makes the order by mail or by phone.

Watch out for vendors who will attempt to scam you by convincing you to apply their tracking system to your site. To avoid this type of situation, utilize a tracking system that has a good reputation.

Emphasize positive words when you are running an internet marketing campaign. Even the phrases that are slightly negative you should not use.

Review any referral programs offered by your online marketing partners. In many cases, existing firms are willing to pay more for referrals that you have facilitated. Some even have a pyramid-like structure, where you get some of the commissions from people you referred. You might be able to recommend an internet marketing program if you?re active in your field or belong to an emerging market.

A lot of affiliates use emails to send out and receive tasks that need to be done. Checking your emails constantly takes time. To minimize time spent mucking around you email, take the high points of each email and paste them to your favorite text editor or word processor. You are streamlining and organizing your work by pulling pertinent information out of the email and pasting it into a document.

Be open and tell your visitors that you do earn commissions when they purchase through your affiliate link. You should not attempt to deceive customers with affiliate links because many of them will know you are not being honest and they will not trust to do any business with you. This simple act of honesty will create loyal customers and site visitors.

Tell your readers information about your affiliations. People appreciate honesty in general. You in turn will feel more confident about your affiliate programs when your audience is aware of your ad programs.

Text services can be very helpful in internet marketing. This is still a relatively new service, but already there are thousands of affiliates using this text service to keep their customers informed and to promote new products and affiliate offers.

Web marketing is a very effective way to market products and services. After following these tips, you will no longer be new to affiliate marketing, you will be an online marketing expert

EU threatens to levy $7.4bn anti-trust fine against Microsoft

CBR Staff Writer Published 28 September 2012

Earlier Microsoft had fines totalling over $1.28bn

The European Union (EU) threatened to levy fine of $7.4bn on Microsoft for its breach of a 2009 ruling ordering the firm to provide users with a choice of Internet browsers.

European Union antitrust chief Joaquin Almunia said Microsoft has not kept its promises.

"We will have to consider taking the next step in this case," Almunia said.

""The next step is to open a procedure to determine a breach to our settlement. Since Microsoft has admitted it, I hope it will not take long."

Microsoft has over a decade-long battle with the EU and has also paid fines totalling over $1.28bn.

In 2009, the EU has signed an agreement with Microsoft, while in July, Microsoft revealed that it hadn't integrated a browser-choice screen as it faced a technical error and was involved in finding a remedy to fix the problem.

According to EU, if Microsoft was discovered to be guilty of violating agreement signed in 2009, it would have to pay fines up to 10% of its turnover.

EU claims that Microsoft, keen to avoid more regulatory problems, has blamed the latest argument with the EU watchdog on a technical malfunction.

Further, EU is negotiating with search engine giant Google on a probable agreement over suspected antitrust exercises in its Internet-search business.

"For the last three months, we've been in technical talks to find a possible settlement. It will be possible if Google offers remedies to our original concerns," Almunia said.

"I hope we succeed in these talks as the legal road takes much longer and this is a fast moving market."

Cameron on 2-day tour to meet Brazilian president

David Cameron is set to promote British business in Brazil on his 2-day tour to meet Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff.

On Thursday, the Prime Minister admitted Britain had been "under-performing" in Brazil, with just 1.5% of imports compared to Germany's 6.4%.

He has set himself the goal of driving up UK trade links with the emerging economic giant - now sixth in the world GDP table - as part of his export-led strategy for nursing the battered UK economy into recovery.

He was joined by a 58-strong business delegation in Brazil and welcomed the signing of deals worth upwards of ?100 million for the UK, which he said would safeguard or create 3,000 jobs in Britain.

Since coming to office in 2010, Mr Cameron has made boosting exports a key foreign policy priority. Brazil is the last of the four BRIC economies he has visited, after Russia, India and China, and he has now been to all of the G20 countries with the exception of Argentina.

With Rio de Janeiro inheriting the title of Olympic city from London, Mr Cameron is keen to ensure that the expertise gained in staging this summer's Games is put to good use in winning 2016 contracts for the UK.

On Thursday night he viewed plans for the proposed Olympic Park, which will be constructed to a masterplan drawn up by London-based Aecom, who performed a similar role for the 2012 Games.

British companies are also pursuing contracts to help stage the 2014 football World Cup in Brazil, with London's Bluecube announcing it will provide seating for the Castelao stadium in the city of Fortaleza.

Mr Cameron is fly to capital Brasilia to meet Ms Rousseff at the presidential Planalto Palace on the last leg of his trip - which also took in two days in New York to address the United Nations General Assembly and appear on the Late Show with David Letterman.

On the agenda for talks with Ms Rousseff will be Brazil's growing energy sector, which Mr Cameron believes provides an opportunity to export UK expertise and skills gained in 40 years of drilling in the North Sea.

Yale College Youth Co-ordinator at London 2012 Olympics

Students at Yale College will be able to share post-Olympic stories with Youth Worker, Pam Rigby who volunteered as a ?Games Maker? at the recent 2012 London Games.

Pam was fortunate to be chosen as one of the final 70,000, out of the 250,000 people who originally applied to become ?Games Makers (Volunteers)? at the London 2012 Olympics. Attending pre- training sessions in London for the role, Pam finally collected her uniform in July and the memorable adventure began. Joining the events services team, Pam embarked on long yet exhilarating shifts immersed in an incredible environment at Lee Valley Canoe Centre for the Canoe Slalom events.

?The atmosphere was electric,? says Pam who embraced the opportunity to share in UK pride of the globally celebrated sporting event.

Pam thoroughly enjoyed her tasks including checking tickets and ensuring people where seated in the correct seats; directing visitors to onsite facilities; assisting with enquiries; entertaining small children; guiding the press into onsite media facilities, dancing with foreign spectators and bidding everyone farewell at the end of each day. On her final day at Lee Valley, after GB had won a silver and gold medal, Pam was tasked with saying goodbye to around 11,000 spectators as they left.

?There was a lot of dancing, shouting, laughing and jubilation as well as a few hugs,? laughs Pam, who, though exhausted is ready to volunteer for Rio 2016.
